FLAW's New Video Added To MTV2's Regular Rotation
May 17, 2002FLAW's video for their latest single, "Whole", has been added into regular rotation on MTV2. The clip will air several times a day beginning May 20th.
As with many of the tracks off of the band's Republic/Universal Records debut, Through the Eyes, "Whole" was inspired by real-life personal turmoil—in this case, the suicide of singer Chris Volz's adoptive mother, which occurred when he was twelve.
"A recurring theme in my lyrics has to do with childhood and life as a healing process. Going through (my mom's) suicide sucked and I wouldn't wish it on anybody, ever, but in a weird way I wouldn't change it either, because I learned so much about myself and other people," says Volz.
The harrowing clip, lensed by Dean Karr (i.e. OZZY OSBOURNE, 3 DOORS DOWN, MARILYN MANSON) challenges the viewer with vivid depictions of despair and loneliness, inter-cut with stunning performance footage.
"While the lyrics of the song were written about my mom, the overall focus of the video is geared towards general loss, abandonment or abuse. We wanted anyone who has endured anything traumatic to be able to relate to it," offers Volz.
FLAW will be touring throughout Europe from May 20 until June 7th and will join Ozzfest 2002 on July 6th.
